How To Treat Itchy Bumps On Forearm And Neck?

about 3 weeks ago notiched small very itchy bumps. Started on right forearm and has preceeded to left forarm and just 4 days started on my neck. My demotologist thought it was caused by hydrothiazide causing photo sensitivity and prescribed a cream. No luck. Any help would be appreciated

Hello,

It seems like you are having an allergic reaction. It may be caused by something you are eating, or something you are in contact through the skin like a new detergent you are using, shampoo or cream, etc. Also can be hydrothyazide, if the rash started after starting using it. The way to treat it is to first identify what is causing it and avoid that trigor. In case of hydrothyazide, stop it after talking with the doctor who prescribed it to get another substitute as needed. Drink plenty of water to be well hydrated.

Use an anthistamine like Cetirizine 10 mg or Loratadine 10 mg once per day to reduce itching and new lesions. I don't know the cream that the dermatologist suggested you to use, but I would suggest using a steroid cream like Prednisone or Dexamethasone in lower dose, once per say. Since the rash is spreading it maybe is not very handy to use a cream on the lesions, so consider taking a treatment of oral steroids. That will help to resolve the rash. For this contact a local doctor to prescribe.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
