Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Your symptoms could be related to occipital neuralgia.
For this reason, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical exam and some tests:
- a cervical spine X Ray study
- a brain CT scan
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation.

If the problem persists, you may need to start an antiepileptic drug like carbamazepine or gabapentine.
In the meantime, I would recommend trying indomethacine twice daily for the pain (if there are no contraindications).
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Best wishes, Dr. Aida
