How To Treat Left Sided, painful Lump On Mouth Roof?

Hi, I woke up this morning with a lump in the left side of the roof of my mouth. It's been quite painful when my tongue touches it and when I eat. I also wear a retainer when I sleep at night and this morning, some of the teeth on my left side were also aching, but that pain went away after a while. Could the two be connected?

thanks for your query, i have gone through your query, the lump could be secondary to a tooth infection like periapical abscess or infection of the gum leading to periodontal abscess..consult a oral physician and get radiographs done to ruleout these lesions..it can occur by trauma to gums by the retainer..take a course of antibiotics and do warm saline gargling.. i hope my answer will help you..take care..
