Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 28 years and i have a leg ulcer which i ave been treating at hospital since early April, i have taken anti-biotics and i am presently dressing it at the hospital with Eusol, but it is not healing and just yesterday i noticed very heavy yellowish discharge and it soiled my bandage seriously. it is also very painful. How best do you think i can treat it?
First of all you need to find out if you are diabetic, uncontrolled diabetes causes delayed healing of ulcers, especially in lower limb.
Secondly, yellowish discharge means its getting infected again, you need to get a culture and sensitivity of bug to see the microbes causing infection and antiboitic they are sensitive to, then use that one.
And it is pertinent to find out the cause of ulcer, is it an ischemic ulcer, venous ulcer or infectious ulcer?
