Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My child is 7 years of age and 20 kg of weight. He had fever 100.3deg and was given 5 ml of syrup crocin 240 mg. His temp came down but again came up to 102 deg. We gave syrup meftal p 10 ml on advise of a doctor. Now temp came down to 98 deg but the child is having loose motion 3 to 4 times since morning. He is also taking mucaine gel 5 ml twice a day. Please suggest remedial medicine.
For loose motions I would suggest you to make sure he is drinking appropriate amount of liquids in the form of water, juices.
There is Metrogyl syrup available in the market, that can be taken thrice a day as per the child's weight depending on the content. (if the bottle comes with 200mg in 5ml proportion then around 3-3.5 ml each time it can be given for 3 times a day).
Important is to make sure he is well hydrated. Use the ORS packets as per the instructions as these are quite helpful in treating the dehydration caused due to loose motion. If the symptoms don't improve then see a doctor in person as few blood tests and other tests might needed to be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar
