General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,
Normally this can just be case of dysentary where eating contaminated food can itself cause bleeding in the stool but A fresh bleeding episode with no history of hemorrhoids or rectal bleed needs to be checked out by a proctologist/general surgeon. It can indicate an inflammatory disease like ulcerative colitis or internal hemorrhoids(these present with no symptoms like the external ones I.e pain and discomfort while passing stools) . A colonoscopy may be done and is helpful in diagnosing any abnormality. For the time being you can have tab buscopan 10 mg to relieve the cramping but a visit to the general surgeon is necessary.
Hope this helps,
Please feel free to address any further queries to me,
I will be happy to help.
