Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having the sensation while sitting still of feeling like my brain is moving. My mouth is constantly watering, I have moments of confusion, blurred vision. I have had a ct scan and a 3mmn mass was found in my pituitary gland. I am a 47yr old female. .
The pituitary mass which you have been diagnosed with is most likely an "incidentaloma", which means that it is an adenoma which most likely not hormonally active. It is also not big enough to cause vision disturbances.
If you CT-scan 100 adults, you will find incidentalomas like yours in up to 40 of them. Basically, this means that your pituitary gland mass might not mean anything - but of course this depends on the blood work which you have had done. If your hormonal blood tests come back normal, the current (European) gold standard would be to do regular MR-scans in order to watch for any growth.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Maria Riechel-Sarup, General & Family Physician
