The possible causes of your intermenstrual spotting are:
-During breastfeeding the baby, some amount of reproductive hormonal fluctuation can be seen and that can lead to a little bit irregularity in menstrual cycles. This adjustment period may vary from person to person. -In the middle of the month like during ovulation due to the fall in the reproductive hormone levels some amount of spotting can be seen sometimes.
Usually this type of minimal spotting will subside by its own. And your cycles may regularize soon. If it continuous or recurs, better to get evaluated. By clinical examination and ultrasound the possible cause of the problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
