How To Treat Pain And Swelling Of Left Tonsil After Wisdom Tooth Removal?

Pain on left tonsil and aching on right back hole where my wisdom tooth was removed? Hi, I just got all four of my wisdom teeth removed last Friday and I have been having pain on the back right side where the tooth was removed. Also my left tonsil continues to be swollen. Is that a problem? Thank you.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain and swelling of the tonsil after extraction of wisdom tooth is not abnormal thing as the wisdom tooth area is close to the throat and tonsils and inflammation caused post extraction can cause inflamed throat and tonsil causing pain and swelling..
Secondly pain in the area of extraction is also not abnormal and pain can occur for a week which gradually reduced after extraction..
But in case if the pain still does not subside and continues then you need to get evaluated and checked for conditions like infection in the area or unhealed socket also known as Dry socket..
As of now continue taking painkiller like Ibuprofen and do warm saline gargles.
You can also do betadine mouthwash rinses..
In case of no improvement in 2 to 3 days consult your dentist and get evaluated..
