How To Treat Pain In Lower Abdomen Along With Constipation?

I have been having pains in lower part of stomach(just above the public hair area) I use a stool softner three times a week but it hasn t done any good. I am constipated to the point that the bowel movement is like rabbit poop except larger and sometime some will float. Also have light pain in lower back. I am 80 yrs old . Any suggestions

Hello
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Try adding fiber to diet along with at least 6 to 8 glasses of water to add bulk to your stool. Undergo ultrasound abdomen and pelvis to rule out any intestinal disease.
Pain in supra pubic area can also be caused due to genito-urinary tract pathology and ultrasound will benefit to rule out even this suspected cause. Look for any other symptoms of concern in this regard like burning sensation when passing urine, dark colored or foul smell in urine or any other changes.
