How To Treat Pain In The Back And Foot Caused By An Injury?

Hi, I fell backwards off a ladder into bark mulch (which was quite soft, thankfully), my feet were on a rung 5ft from ground. my tailbone area and the middle of my back is a bit sore; I can still sit and walk, but lifting one foot to go up a stair hurts and bending over hurts but can be done slowly and gradually. Should I continue moving and walking or is it best to rest? I am a 60 year old female in good heath who walks 10 min most days, does gardening and other chores.

Hello!

I can understand your concern.

I advise my patients as:

1. You got hurt at many places. It is possible that at some place, the injury was more. It is unclear from the history.

2. Please try some pain killer like Diclofenac preparation for 1-2 days. Try to take rest and avoid walking and climbing. If you have hyperacidity, you may try Paracetamol 650 mg.

2. If it is since many days the problem is not resolving, you should consult an Orthopaedic surgeon.

Wish you a speedy recovery
