How To Treat Painful Abrasion On Leg Just Above Ankle?

I have a one inch by one inch abrasion on my leg just above the ankle. It is slow to heal as a heart condition has reduced blood flow to the area. At night it is painful, causes a strong stinging sensation that reocurs every few minutes. This llkeeps me from falling asleep. What is this and is there an otc to treat it with. Tylenol, Tramadol are no help at all. I have kept neosporin on it so it is not infected. Thanks for your time. Todd

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I would recommend you to apply topical antibiotic like fusidic acid cream on the affected area twice daily and take zinc supplements like tablet zinc sulphate twice daily for quicker recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
