Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A have a severe chin rash. A topical ointment will take care of it but I have tried to quit using the ointment for 4 days, the rash has become very painful, burning, itchy and red. In addition the inside of my upper lip feels raw. There is no pain it is just irritating. A dermatologist scrapped my lip and said it showed I had yeast but no treatment was given. Could all of this be caused from excessive yeast? If so how do I treat it
Understanding your concern. As per your query you havepainful and itchy rash on chin which seems to be that fact that you are being exposed and re exposed to the allergen and due o excessive sunlight exposure. I would suggest you to take proper course of antihistamine drug along with short course of oral corticosteroids after proper prescription. Apply dologel on lips on inside surface to massage it properly. Maintain hygiene as it could be due to fungal infection as well. Exfoliate your chin once in a week to remove the dead skin. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist again for proper diagnosis and to rule out any underlying condition . Doctor may prescribe isoteritenoin , steroid ointment or antibiotics course. Drink plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
