How To Treat Painful Discoloration On The Palms After Using Chemical Wash?

I got some Easy Off Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner on my hand yesterday. I thought I had washed it all off. But, I now have what appears to be a burn. Only its black. It s only about the size of a pea. Some redness and swelling around it. It is on the palm of my hand near the base of my thumb. It is very painful. How should I treat this?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may want to consider cleaning the area with a dilute anti septic at least twice daily. In addition to this, you can apply a topical antibiotic twice daily as well along with silver sulfadiazine cream which is used for burns.

An anti inflammatory pain killer such as naproxen, cataflam or ibuprofen, would help with the pain.

It should take up to a week for healing to occur.

I hope this helps
