General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your mother's problem can be due to rotator cuff injury of shoulder. These are muscle groups which gives stability to the shoulder joint. An examination with orthopedician will be helpful to rule out this. MRI might be needed in case of positive signs to confirm it also. If injury is minimal then conservative measures like analgesics, muscle strengthening exercises and physiotherapy will be helpful. If there is moderate to severe injury surgical correction will be needed. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
