Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was at the dr. last week, she says I have tendenitis in my wrist. It is very painful. She gave me a pres. for ibuprofen 800 mg and said to take 3 times a day for a week to relieve inflammation and to sleep with a wrist splint on. It's been 4 days, I think the pain is getting worse. Thanks!
hello, i can understand your concern. tendinitis is basically inflammation of the tendons. the treatment followed is usually conservative. this includes drugs which are helpful in reducing inflammation such as ibuprofen, aceclofenac, diclofenac among others. along with this rest is very important. supportive braces or splint are also used to reduce the movements there by giving rest to the parts involved. it usually takes one week to 10 days for improvement in the condition. total recovery might take upto three to four months time. i would suggest continuing the same medication for three to four days, give ample rest during this period. restriction of movements is also important. you should see the improvements in a few days time. hope you are staisfied with the response. thanks for choosing HCM
