Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Your symptoms suggest severe anxiety and panic. Diazepam is a benzodiazepine and the drug can help to reduce the symptoms but this is not the definitive treatment of anxiety or panic. The drug also causes sedation which can become troublesome in day time. So other benzodiazepines like Etizolam or Oxazepam can be used. These medicines control the symptoms but don't cause sedation.

For definitive treatment of persistent symptoms medicines like SSRIs or SNRIs can be used. Fluoxetine, Sertraline, Paroxetine etc are commonly used. Please visit a psychiatrist for prescription.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
