Many possibilities of polyuria and polydipsia. Most common is type 1
diabetes mellitus in this case which may be present with polyphasia. He may have ketosis that may give acidic smell.
Other possibilities like Central
diabetes insipidus caused bygerminoma and
craniopharyngioma, Langerhan cell
histiocytosis, inflammation, autoimmune and vascular diseases, trauma resulting from surgery or an accident etcetera.
Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus problem is in kidney to obsorb water which leads to polyuria.
Psychogenic polydipsia (PPD), a clinical disorder characterized by polyuria and polydipsia, is a common occurrence in inpatients with psychiatric disorders.
So, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
