Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Treat Positive HPV Result For Cervical Cancer?
My daughter had a pap smear that indicated squamous eligp (cant spell it) and saw a cancer doctor who decided to redo the pap and test for HPV. She just got a call that said she tested positive for the the highest risk of cervical cancer. She is 35 years old and has two children. What are the percentages of successful treatment? She had a still born baby two months ago (full term) so her last pap prior to the pregnancy was roughly two years ago. Thank you for your insight.
Chances are quite high but treatment can reduce that to a slightly less likely possibility, but we can still not rule it our completely. I would not only recommend treatment but also as regular as possible pap smears to be conducted so we can diagnose cancer for a better prognosis.
Best wishes.
