How To Treat Rashes On Arms And Genitals Caused After Avodart Therapy?
15 days after starting avodart therapy, I developed a severe rash laterallz on my hand and around and above the genitals. I have vstopped taking avodart and started takin Xyzol (also called Pressing). After one day the rash staring fading on inner sides of hands an the armpits, still have the lower rash as severe as it used to be at first. Lately my first fallanx on the right forefinger is swollen. What is your opinion?
It can be due to allergic drug reaction. However, if rash is still present despite using xyzol, you may need to have an intramuscular injection of chlorpheneramine alongside steroid like Dexamethasone. Meanwhile using OTC analgesic like Acetaminophen may help with pain and swelling of the finger.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
