How To Treat Recurring Fungal Rashes Under Belly During Pregnancy?

I have recurring fungal rashes under my belly folds, not due to poor hygeine. I normally use lotrimin af powder spray to rid the rash and have done so for about a week. I m in my first trimester of pregnancy and realized this may be harmful. Is this going to harm my baby? Are there other treatments for this that are safer? I m talking clindamyacin and the rash is hard to keep at bay with normal powder.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a fungal rash. Topical antifungal creams are considered safe to use during pregnancy. So, I suggest to use Clotrimazole cream. I also suggest to avoid sweating, which can trigger the rash.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
