How To Treat Red And Itchy Eyes When Diagnosed With Rosacea?

I saw my Dr last week and she diagnosed me with Rosacea......she put me on an antibiotic which has not seemed to help. My eyes are very red and itchy, can you recommend an eye drop I could try? I am leaving for a week vacation and cannot get in to see Dr before I go.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related conjunctivitis which is an inflammation of the conjunctiva. I suggest using artificial eye drops to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using an antihistamine such s Cetirizine 10 mg daily. Cool compresses can also be helpful in relieving the symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
