How To Treat Red Patch Around Thyroid Gland When Diagnosed With Hypothyroidism?
Two years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and take Armour .5gr or 30 mg. I am traveling abroad and for the past two weeks have had a red patchy patch on my throat area around the thyroid gland. It is slightly itchy but will not go away. Trying to see if a doctor visit is needed or if it can wait a few more weeks till I am home.
I don't think that thyroid issues such hypothyroidism can't cause rash and redness on the neck skin over thyroid. I think this can possibly be related to allergies or eczema. You can send me a photo to see it and give you a better opinion. Antihistamines such Benadryl or Cetirizine can help. Also, you can use cortico-steroid cream such hydrocortisone.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
