How To Treat Red Rashes And Sore Throat?

Hi I have the type 2 strain, my wife had oral sex with me and now I think she has passed on the HVS 1 type to our kids through kissing them. Now both my kids have red marks on their faces that come and go. My wife gets a red spot on her face. They all have sore throats. Is there any medication they can take? My kids are 8 and 4yrs old.

in most healthy patients, the infection is self limited. in your childrens case red marks comes and goes so there is recurrence in this case you should start with oral medications that include: acyclovir, famciclovir, valacyclovir. oral therapy will reduce pain, viral shedding and time to healing, if secondary infection occurs then treat with antibiotics, recurrent herpetic infections should not be treated with corticosteroids.
