How To Treat Severe Acid Reflux Causing Burning Sensation In Throat And Esophagus?
I am experiencing severe acid reflux...burning that pools in my throat & all the way thru my esophagus. I take medication for gerds & I also take medications for my heart. Is this a symptom of related heart problems or just a bad attack of reflux.I have had these symptoms for 4 days now & it isn'tletting up. Should I be concerned?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
Burning sensation in throat and esophagus are due to GERD ( gastro esophageal reflux syndrome) and not heart problems. Also you have history of gastro-esophageal reflux syndrome Treatment of severe acid reflux consist of 1.lifestyle changes - Don't lie immediately after having meals, Taking a slow walk may be helpful. Heavy diet should be avoided at a time, instead of divided 4-5 meals should be taken. 2.Proton pump inhibitors like omeprazole / pantoprazole should be taken empty stomach in morning. Surgery may be an option in those who do not improve. 3. You can also take Domperiodone 10mg thrice a day before meals, It is easily avialable in combination with Proton pump inhibitors. 4. Avoid spicy & acidic foods.
