How To Treat Severe Headache Caused After Injury?

Hi - my son (25 years old) was playing basketball and fell hard. First he landed on his cheekbone then hit the side of his head - the far left side level with his eye. This happened this morning and now he has a bad headache. His neck is also having bad pain. He wants to lie down and rest but I m worried he may have a concussion

Hello dear user!
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns!
Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic.
Yes that are the signs of head contusion. The important thing we want to rule out is head bones fractures, and cerebral contusion. That would cause pain, edema, sleep feeling, dizziness, conscience loss, etc. Please go to ER and have the proper examinations to rule out these possible damages. You may have to go through a simple x-ray or CT to evaluate the head. If everything is ok, then you have not to be worried about, just take painkillers and anti inflammatory drugs, and keep it with cold compresses.
I hope this answer was helpful to you!
