How To Treat Severe Headache Inspite Of Taking Motrin?
Hello,For the last two years I have seen numerous doctors for a headache problem. I have been getting them constantly everyday, some days worse than others and have been on Motrin 400-800mg, high blood pressure medication, and magnesium oxide. I get them when I wake up on the front portion of my head then it slowly migrated to the left side or even middle to back.
Is thee any associated vomiting or visual disturbances? Is the blood pressure well controlled? Headache which is worse on waking up can suggest BIH (benign intracranial hypertension) or mass lesions of brain.
In this setting we should get a brain MRI scanning done, if not already. Also, detailed ophthalmologic examination including fundus examination also needed. Kindly keep regular follow up with a neurologist. Meanwhile, try to reduce mental stress, have adequate sleep, drink enough fluids, and avoid caffeinated items, alcohol and tobacco.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
