How To Treat Severe Pain Caused Due To Wisdom Tooth?
Hi I think I have my wisdom pith coming through but am concerned as it is grey in the top. I am having a lot of pain. When I look at the tooth I can see what looks like lose him around the back of the tooth as if the tooth is coming through the gum. The colour is worrying me. It is a light grey colour. The gum is swollen and quite red. What is wrong?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain caused due to wisdom tooth which seems to be due to inflammation of gingiva around that area leading to pericoronitis and due to pressure build up in the area under the root tips of tooth and causing nerve compression and pain. Greyish color seems to be due to cavity formation and tooth stains.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit dentist once and get IOPA of that particular tooth done. Go for root canal treatment of that tooth i fit is cavitated if you want to save that tooth. It's better to go for extraction of wisdom tooth if it is really troubling you and follow all instructions. Maintain complete oral hygiene and do antiseptic rinses. if pain is severe you can take higher painkillers like Tramadol. Start taking heavy dose of antibiotic i.e amoxicillin 500 to suppress infection.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
