How To Treat Severe Pain In The Wrist And Small Finger After An Injury?

I have been occasionally banging my hands on things like a hard wooden table, my smartphone screen, and my metal laptop keyboard. It is usually out of silly frustration but it is usually a pretty hard hit. I have also used it recently to write with a pen and that hurt a lot. Now the side of my left hand (which is my dominant hand), below my pinky finger but above my wrist, there is pain. There feels like a burning sensation especially when I use it to do anything, it hurts to make a fist but not every time I try, and there is occasional throbbing pain on the side of my hand that happens at anytime. I have had other issues with my hands, wrists, and elbows but now I m worried that this could be a fracture or something worse. Thanks.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Post trauma pain is normal and is likely the case with you. However, a wrist x-ray will help to exclude a fracture. You may take pain medications like ibuprofen and apply a pain gel like voltarene on the painful site.If the pain persist, you get an X-ray to investigate for a fracture.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
