How To Treat Sharp Abdominal Pain Inspite Of Taking Lansoprazole For Acid Reflux?

my colleague is taking Ganaton, lansoprazole and combizyn for very bad acid reflux and osoephagus tenderness from the acid reflux. He doesn t have any stomach pain anymore from the acid reflux but is having some very sharp pains on the upper left side of his abdomen. We don t know if this is a side effect of one of the drugs or perhaps some irritation from the endoscope (he had that a week ago)

Hello,

Since your friend is having pain abdomen he should take antispasmodic drugs such as dicyclomine to ease it. He can also take PPIs for relieve. Sharp abdominal pain can be due to acid reflux, ulcers, IBS, appendicitis, diverticulitis, etc.

He is suggested to stay well hydrated, avoid constipation and get clinically examined by a GP, get investigations, blood tests and imaging tests done to detect any pathology causing you discomfort. He will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, he should avoid addictions if any, Avoid stressful lifestyle & take adequate rest.
