How To Treat Sickness, Palpitations And Low Grade Fever?
I have been sick, maybe sinus infection, low grade fever for 3 days. Cut my tongue on a tooth I just broke chewing ice. Now my tongue is coated white. I cannot stop crunching on ice. I feel weak , some palps. overall blagh I have been sick with sinus and cough for 7 days . Crunching on ice for 3 months breakfast. lunch, dinner& bedtime!
Crunching on ice cubes is part of entity called pica. It could be a sign of iron deficiency anemia or obsessive compulsive disorder. Since you're giving history of infection it's likely that you're anemic. Please get evaluated for the same by getting Hb% and complete blood count (for infection) done. For sinusitis first it has to be confirmed so get a X ray of paranasal sinuses (Water's view) and treatment includes tablet amoxicillin500mg+clavulonic acid 125mg (combination) three times daily, tablet paracetamol 500mg three times daily, tablet pantoprazole 40mg once daily in morning half hour before food for 5-7days but first let it be examined by ENT specialist. Steam inhalation will decrease the nasal congestion. Anemia can be treated with hematinics. For the habit of chewing on ice please undergo behavioral therapy so that you'll stop as it's not good.
