How To Treat Skin Discolouration And Scab On Knee Caused After Injury?

I fell a week ago I triped and feel straight down on my knee cap it took a chunk out of my skin and has scab over but I can t put pressure on it and there is no black or purple on the outside but if I do put pressure on it squatting etc coming up hurts really bad

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you should get a review from a medic or a primary physician review to rule out any underlying wound infection.

Usually scab formation follows skin development underneath and scabs sheds itself but if any ooze or swelling increase or local tenderness is felt may need antibiotics oral and topical as well as wound care with anti septic medicine. Meanwhile taking OTC analgesic like acetaminophen may help.
