The best way to reduce your symptoms would be avoiding the exposure. However, many times it may not be possible. Minimizing the exposure with use of mask, avoid persons who smoke will help.

If only cough is present, still
cough variant asthma is a possibility. If you are diagnosed with asthma, we classify as well controlled, moderately well controlled and poorly controlled asthma. Treatment depends on the staging.
Short acting bronchodilators and inhalational steroids may be suitable for you. If the episodes are frequent then oral steroids are advised. If there is evidence of infection, then antibiotics are required. Also other medications like
mast cell stabilizers and levocetrizine may be added.
