How To Treat Sore Throat And Swelling From Ear To Throat?
GOOD MORNING DOCTOR,I HAVE VIRAL FEVER FOR THE PAST THREE DAYS ALONG WITH SEVERE SORE THROAT.I WENT TO A GENERAL PHYSICIAN AND SHE PRESCRIBED TAXIM-O DRUG,BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT HAD ALMOST, NO EFFECT ON ME AND MY SORE THROAT HAS NOW GONE UPTO MY EAR AND THE PART STARTING FROM MY LEFT EAR TILL MY LEFT SIDE THROAT HAS SWOLLEN AND EACH TIME I TRY TO SWALLOW SOMETHING I HAVE THIS UNBEARABLE PAIN IN MY EAR AND THROAT.....WHAT SHOULD I DO? CAN I USE ALCIPRO-500 FOR THIS INSTEAD OF TAXIM-O ?

Your symptoms could be related to a bacterial infection. But, before coming to this conclusion, I would recommend performing a throat discharge bacterial culture and complete blood test. Then you can go for Alcipro-500, if this test shows a high sensitivity for this antibiotic.
