I was drinking last night and as the night went on it seemed like I was beginning to lose my voice. This morning I woke up with a sore throat and in the afternoon, I noticed that I had several large bumps on the back of my mouth towards my tongue. What is it?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding severe sore throat along with bumps at the back of mouth. As per your clinical history it appears as you are having acute tonsillopharyngitis. The bumps you are seeing at the back of mouth are most likely enlarged congested tonsils.

Since your pain in throat is severe so it will be better to consult your ENT doctor for thorough examination and treatment and to avoid complications. Till you are waiting for specialist you may take-

1- Warm saline gargling.

2- Tab Paracetamol.

3- Adequate fluid orally.

4- Antibiotic (preferably broad spectrum).

I hope above will give you relief.

Regards.
