Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
Incomplete data like age, gender, duration of the problems, any
allergy or drug intake not mentioned.
I appreciate your concern for the sweeping sores on the chin.
From the history given, it appears that you have developed a
skin infection referred to as
Impetigo.
It is a highly contagious skin infection that mainly affects young children but can occur in adults as well.
Impetigo usually appears as red sores on the face, especially around the nose and mouth. The sores burst and develop honey-colored crusts.
For minor infections that haven't spread to other areas, you can use an over-the-counter antibiotic cream or ointment that
Antibiotics are the mainstay of impetigo treatments.
These drugs can be delivered by an ointment or cream that contains
bacitracin and that can be applied directly to the sores.
You may need to first soak the affected area in warm water or use wet compresses to help remove the overlying scabs.
If you have more sores, visit your gp as you may need a course of appropriate
oral antibiotics.
This helps prevent the infection from recurring and makes
antibiotic resistance less likely.
Hope these suggestions are of great help to you in eradicating this infection.
A feedback is appreciated.
