My mother is currently in a UK hospital with Stage 4 left sided ventricle failure, two nights ago she suffered a mild heart attack (she had a major one about 12 years ago and a kidney removed through cancer about 7 years ago), Mum is very ill and I am concerned about the prognosis and quality of life is she recovers?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,

Advanced heart failure has a very poor prognosis and the quality of life of such patients is not good.
For advanced heart failure with recurrent admissions for the same, we generally advise for a heart transplant.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sameer Maheshwari, Cardiologist
