hi, I was severely electrocuted(24,000v) some 4yrs ago and had 2nd and 3rd degree burns to my hands and lower l.arm, the voltage arched out my r.elbow. Initially i regained 95% motion in my hands but, in the last 6mths two fingers and thumb, and lesser my wrist, have increasingly become stiff and painful. I now cant hold a pen and write for over a minute or two. there is no obvious onset of arthritis. what may it be due to?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of stiffness after burns, my treatment advice is -
1. Do regular exercise of affected parts for faster recovery.
2. Apply a hexilak gel twice daily on it.
3. Take a vitamin E supplement once daily for 3 months.
4. Other treatment options are intralesional steroid, intralesional fluorouracil given only by a dermatologist.

Thanks.
