How To Treat Swelling And Discolouration On Cheekbones And Eyebrows After A Injury?
My 7 year old ran into the corner of a chair and has swelling in her eyebrow and a little swelling on her checkbone under the corner of the eye. I iced it for around 30 minutes. it looked better for a awhile but then started looking a little more swollen about an hour later and purplish. i expect that it will give her a black eye, but she seems to be fine and her vision was was fine. Should i take her the physician in the morning or are there other signs i should look for?
Yes, it is better to get her clinically examined by a GP, to rule out any internal injury and get antiseptic dressing done. At present maintain proper hygiene, Apply a thin layer of Neosporin or Bacitracin to the wound. Do not let the wound get dirty. Cover with a simple bandage if required. You can apply ointment Thrombophob in the area which is getting purple or blue to help release the blood clots but be careful not to let the ointment go into the eyes. Change the dressing and do not let your daughter scratch or pick the scabs.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
