How To Treat Swelling And Pain Over Eye Caused Due To A Popped Pimple?

Hi doctor I had a pimple over my rt eye within the last 48 hrs. yesterday i tried to pop it and when i woke up today, my eyes are swollen and it is painful. i am applying ice on it. and day after tommorrow i have to attend a wedding. what should i do for quick relief?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swelling and pain over eye caused due to a popped pimple . Well there can be many reasons for bump n eye brow like cyst , pimple or infected pimple , allergic reaction or infected hair follicle . The symptoms can also occur due to applying cosmetic products that cause allergic reaction on your skin.

I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor will examine it physically about its consistency and tenderness to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (clindamycine or minocyclin ) or give small incision under local anesthesia to drain it along with anti inflammatory .

For now do not touch , squeeze or pick it with hand . Apply cold compresses to reduce swelling . Also take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Avoid applying any cosmetic product .
