How To Treat Swelling And Painful Bruise On Big Toe After Injury?
I m pretty sure I have brokend my big toe tonight I can t put my weight on it .my toes are stiff my big toe is swollen pretty large as well as bruised on the bottom and like spotted bruises(dark purple) on the top of my toe as well and yellow/green around my nail. It hurts like heck to even put pressure on any part of my foot. I iced it and than elevated it but now my whole foot feels like pins and needles as well as itchy almost the same sensation as when your foot falls asleep and you finally start getting feeling back. I have it educated now and it feels the same just cold but even I move it down it feels like my foot is full of water and it s sloshing around when I put my foot down. Other than ice and elevation should I tape it or just in the words of my friend suck it up Thank you for your help,Jaymie
Hi Jamie, welcome to Healthcare Magic. I would suggest you to first get an X-ray of the foot. The swelling and bruising you explain looks too much. Please dont waste more time and visit a hospital. Do not tape it, you will have pain. Take care. Regards, Dr. Anuja
