How To Treat Swelling And Scar On The Tongue After Temporary Crown Fall Out?
I had a cap from a previous root canal which the cap came off years ago since then I have been experiencing slight pain with scar tissues swollenon my tongue three tissue middle one has white spots directly below area where ,the pain comes n goes .Dentist said it is because of the cap remove but I should remove the reminds of tooth and tissue and have a biopsy.Do you think I have anything to worry about, those this happen ,Is my tongue being scrapped by the metal in my tongue .
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that swollen tissues with white spots along with pain after dislodged crown can be due to rubbing of the side of the tongue to the rough tooth surface leading to excessive keratin deposition in that area along with inflammation and pain.. It can very well be resolved it the source of irritation is removed that is your tooth.. You can get a metal ceramic crown over it.. I would however still suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and if anything is suspected he can do a Biopsy to confirm the cause..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
