How To Treat Swelling And Tight Sensation In Glans?
This morning I suffered a case of a non retracting foreskin after sex. Paraphimosis I believe it s called. I visited a local health care professional who told me it was fine my foreskin had managed to sorthe it s self out after five minutes ice compression. However my glans are still swollen and I am having trouble going to loo. Although I can pass urine, it s more of an uncontrollable spurt than a steady stream. Is this normal or should I still be worried by my swollen glans and seek a second opinion? I have no pain but I am awear of a tight sensation wher the glans are inflamed.
- When your foreskin doesn't retract, it forms a tight band on the base of your glans because of swelling. This tends to cut of the blood supply - Now that your foreskin has gotten back to normal, the blood supply will be back to normal - It is normal to have a tight or altered sensation in the glans for some time. It should get better in a day or two.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
