How To Treat Swelling In Ankles And Lower Legs?

I have swelling in my ankles & lower legs, esp. left side. (approx. 6 wks.). * Sonogram (yesterday) said no blood clot. PCP prescribed furosemide (20 mg) + low dose aspirin. Sept. blood test showed anemia, so PCP prescribed ferrous sulfate/iron (325 mg) twice/day for 1 mo., then once/day. Previously, had only been on Synthroid (75 mcg) - (due to 1989 misdiagnosis leading to partial thyroidectomy). I enjoy grapefruit juice & tea with lemon --- no sugar. (AGE 74). Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

what is the cause of anemia,find out what is the cause of anemia and get it treated. Go to a doctor who is specialized in internal medicine and get it diagnosed.
