Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was out all day two nights ago in high heels and I woke up the next morning with a numb fourth toe in my left foot. It still hasn t gone away but I only know it s numb when I walk on it and it is slightly swollen but not sore. What can I do to make this go away?
You have swollen and numb 4th toe in foot due to wearing high heels. Now you are have discomfort. You are suggested to give rest to your foot. Keep the foot in warm salt water twice daily to ease discomfort. Apply ointment Thrombophob on the area affected. It dissolves the clots and also relieves pain and inflammation by increasing the blood flow. This improves the overall healing process.
Gentle massage & heat therapy is effective. You should wear comfortable foot wear. Do not wear high heels if it doesn't suit you. Do not walk too much on high heels. It is fashion wear. You can wear platforms or any other footwear when you have to walk so that it doesn't strain your muscles, tendon, ligaments , nerves or veins.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
