Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms if you had a tooth infection that is scheduled for extraction and as the tooth infection is causing swelling on face it is due to dental abscess formation leading to pus formation as well as there is inflammation..

As there is inflammation you should DO COLD COMPRESSES and not hot as hot compresses can further increase pain and swelling while cold compresses will reduce inflammation and have a soothing effect..

But complete reduction in swelling will be achieved after extraction when the pus will find a way to drain off after extraction of tooth..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
