How To Treat Swollen Forearm Caused Due To A Burn?
My husband was burning yard debris and the fire made a big noise as if a bomb went off. he was standing close enough to the fire that it got his forarm on fire a litte of his ear and side of face. He doesnt feel that its neccesary to go to a doctor but this happened 4 days ago and the area on his forearm is swollen and hot when i touch it. and today he has felt sick. could he becoming physically sickdue to the burn?
Your husband should visit ER, get physically examined, have dressing done if required. He needs to get an injection for Tetnus (inj tetvac), he should take injection Amoxycillin for at least 3 days.
If his situation is not critical he can take Amoxycillin or Augmentin orally.
He can apply ointment Soframycin in the area affected. Ointment Burnol also works well.
Protect the affected area from getting infected. Yes, he can become physically sick due to burn if the wound gets infected.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
