How To Treat Swollen Lymph Node In Neck Leading To Pain?

My husband a 57 year old who has never smoked 2 weeks ago found a lymph node swollen in his neck. It is painful . they did an ultra sound and it is definantely a lymph node. what kind of cancer are they looking for doing a needle biopsy. Our daughter had Hodkins Lymphoma at 25 two years ago. Is it hereditary?

I really appreciate your concern, such lymph swelling may not be malignancy but most of the time such swelling could be due to some bacterial infection, or may be abscess formation, no nee to worry about this, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
