How To Treat The Condition Of Incontinence Urination During Night?

Hello Doctor, I am from Egypt, my daughter is 13 years old , she suffers from incontinence urination during night, it does not happen every night but almost once or twice per week , during day she is fine, even if she sleeps for 2 hours during day she is fine. We went to the doctor who asked for urine analysis and it was o.k, then he gave her minirin 60mg when she takes it she is fine, he then asked her to stop it and to stop drinking and eating 2 hours before sleeping, and to wake herself one hour after her sleeping and to go to the bathroom. when she follows this she is o.k , but when not she is not o.k, she is very much depressed and think it will not end although doctor here says that it will stop. Sometimes she stays for 2 weeks dry . n.b she still did get her period , but I think it is matter of months as lately she is obviously grown up .

Hi,

Minirin tablet is an anti-diuretic hormone. Usually, it is a safe and effective drug to be used for bed wetting. Usual precautions are to avoid liquid intake for 2 hours before going to bed. Avoid caffeinated drinks in these cases. Normally, individual effective dose may vary person to person. Hence, it should be taken under guidance of your doctor in prescribed doses and for advised duration.

Normally, a course of 3 months is advised followed by a breaking period of 1 week to see whether the drug is effective or not. If the symptoms persist during break period, then a further course of 3 months is again taken and again followed by one week of without medicine. Further continuation of medicine beyond 2 courses of 3 month period, if needed should be taken under guidance of your doctor only.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
