How To Treat The Deep Cut In Finger?

Hi, my husband cut his finger on a razor knife while doing some work. He has about a 1/2 inch long and 1/4 inch deep. It occurred about 3 hours ago and it is still bleeding a bit but when he holds it above his heart it doesn t bleed. He went to a walk in clinic but they were not seeing patients. What s the best thing to use to close it. He used peroxide to clean it at first then later on he used iodine to clean it.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain the first thing that you should do is to put pressure over the finger at the site of cut to stop the bleeding..
You can also do cold compresses over the finger as it will help in stopping bleeding..
You can then apply an antiseptic lotion over it to clean the finger and apply a triple antibiotic ointment over it and put a pressure bandage over it that is you can tie the bandage under pressure..
You can also take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for reducing inflammation and pain..
In case if bleeding does not stop you will have to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated and treatment can be done accordingly..
